Back Pain Treatments and Tips That Work

My name is Jason Dawson and if you have chronic back pain, I'm glad that you've found my blog. After an accident, I suffered with back pain for several years until I started visiting a chiropractor. I could tell a difference in the severity of my back pain after only a few treatments. I continued seeing the chiropractor on a regular basis and today my back pain is gone. When I had excruciating back pain, I couldn't enjoy any physical activities and some days I could barely walk. I'm writing this blog so that I can help others who have back pain. In my blog you'll learn about chiropractors and how they can help you. You'll also learn some things that you can do at home that will lessen the pain in your back.

Different Back Problems Can Be Painful

by Nandy Dannenberg

There are a lot of possible ways you can end up with chronic back pain, but one thing remains the same and that is the fact that chronic back pain can significantly change the way you live your life. Knowing about some of the different causes of back pain is important because it can prevent you from further aggravating your already painful situation.

Degenerative disc disease

This condition can affect the lumbar spine or the lower back. It tends to set in as a person ages and causes the degeneration of the discs which causes pain. This condition cannot be reversed.

Herniated disc

A herniated disc is a permanent injury to your back in which a portion of the disc gets pushed out of position, so it pushes into the spinal canal. Since there isn't much room in the spinal canal, this can cause even more issues for you than what the herniated disc itself would cause. The disc will press on the nerve in a way that can be extremely painful and can lead to issues such as weakness and tingling in your legs. Although herniated discs more commonly happen in the lower part of a person's back, they can also happen in the upper back and even in the neck.

Arthritis

There are different types of arthritis that you can have in your back that can be very painful. Some of the different types of arthritis include osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, enteropathic arthritis, and spondyloarthritis.

Fractures

Many people are under the misconception that a fracture or break in the back automatically means a person will be paralyzed. You can have a fracture or even a break in your back that can cause you a lot of pain. It can also put you in a dangerous situation should you have another injury happen to your back, so you will likely be looking at surgery to repair the break.

Conclusion

When you have something wrong with your back that causes you to be in chronic pain, you'll want to do anything possible to get relief. One thing you can do that can really help you to feel better is to go through injury rehab. Rehab will help you to strengthen the muscles, so they support your back better. It will also help you learn new ways of moving and doing things that won't hurt as much or even cause more back problems.
