Back Pain Treatments and Tips That Work

My name is Jason Dawson and if you have chronic back pain, I'm glad that you've found my blog. After an accident, I suffered with back pain for several years until I started visiting a chiropractor. I could tell a difference in the severity of my back pain after only a few treatments. I continued seeing the chiropractor on a regular basis and today my back pain is gone. When I had excruciating back pain, I couldn't enjoy any physical activities and some days I could barely walk. I'm writing this blog so that I can help others who have back pain. In my blog you'll learn about chiropractors and how they can help you. You'll also learn some things that you can do at home that will lessen the pain in your back.

3 Types of Massage Therapies That Are Awesome for Stress

by Nandy Dannenberg

Massage therapy has a lot of different benefits. It can ease muscle pain, enhance sports performance, and reduce inflammation in the tissues. Massage can also help relieve stress. If your main goal with massage is to relieve stress, then here are three forms of massage that you should look into, in particular.

Hot Stone Massage

This type of massage does not involve as much deep kneading and muscle work as many other forms of massage, so it may not be the best choice if you are seeking massage for sports performance or to help heal energy. However, a hot stone massage can be very relaxing and excellent for stress relief. The practitioner usually starts by doing some light strokes all over your body, and then they place warmed stones on specific parts of your body. These stones deliver a very deep, soothing heat that loosens you up and really soothes your pain, mentally and physically. After you sit with the stones on your body for a while, your therapist will do some more hands-on massage strokes to further help ease your pain.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a really unique form of massage that basically combines massage with yoga. Your practitioner will have you move your body into certain positions before they use various massage strokes on your muscles. The positions themselves are selected to help relax and free your mind, and the massage strokes encourage relaxation through your body.

Thai massage can be performed while you are fully clothed, which makes it a good choice for patients who are self-conscious about their bodies or wary of the skin-to-skin contact involved with other massage therapies.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is the art of using various scents to ease the mind. Scents like vanilla and lavender are particularly calming. Aromatherapy massage combines the use of these scents with massage strokes for even deeper relaxation. It is really easy to turn off your mind and just enjoy the massage when the room is scented with lavender, vanilla, chamomile, or another stress-relieving scent. The massage component of an aromatherapy massage tends to be quite gentle, using a lot of long, shallow strokes.

If you are primarily seeking a massage for stress relief and relaxation benefits, then look into the three types of massage listed above. Each one is different, but they are all designed to help patients relax, free their minds, and loosen their bodies.
