Back Pain Treatments and Tips That Work

My name is Jason Dawson and if you have chronic back pain, I'm glad that you've found my blog. After an accident, I suffered with back pain for several years until I started visiting a chiropractor. I could tell a difference in the severity of my back pain after only a few treatments. I continued seeing the chiropractor on a regular basis and today my back pain is gone. When I had excruciating back pain, I couldn't enjoy any physical activities and some days I could barely walk. I'm writing this blog so that I can help others who have back pain. In my blog you'll learn about chiropractors and how they can help you. You'll also learn some things that you can do at home that will lessen the pain in your back.

4 Reasons a Misaligned Spine Can Cause Migraine Headaches

by Nandy Dannenberg

People often blame diet or environmental triggers for migraines, but your spine also plays a role. In fact, if your spine is misaligned, it can trigger headaches. A chiropractor can help align your spine during migraine therapy sessions, which may provide relief from migraines. Here are four reasons a misaligned spine can cause migraines.

1. The bones in your spine protect your spinal cord

If the bones in your spine are out of alignment, your spine cannot properly protect your spinal cord. This can lead to migraines because the nerves in your spinal cord are responsible for sending signals to your brain. This can be true for any part of your spine, but neck misalignment is especially likely to cause migraines. That's because the nerves in your neck run throughout your face and head, which is where headaches are typically felt.

2. The muscles in your spine support your head

If the muscles in your spine are out of alignment, they cannot properly support your head. This can lead to migraines because the muscles in your head are responsible for keeping it upright. When they're not supported, the muscles in your head can become strained, which can trigger migraines. That's why many patients turn to chiropractic care for migraines.

3. The ligaments in your spine hold your bones together

If the ligaments in your spine are out of alignment, your bones can rub against each other, causing pain. This can lead to migraines because the ligaments in your head and neck are particularly sensitive. When they're out of alignment, they can cause migraine headaches. If you suspect your ligaments are out of place, talk to a chiropractor about migraine headache therapy.

4. The discs in your spine cushion your bones

If the discs in your spine are out of alignment, they cannot properly cushion your bones. This can lead to migraines because the discs in your head and neck are responsible for absorbing shock. When they're not cushioned, the bones in your head and neck can rub against each other, causing migraine headaches. If you suspect you have bulging discs or similar issues, talk to a chiropractor about migraine therapy.

A misaligned spine can cause migraines for all of the above reasons. If you suffer from migraines, talk to a chiropractor about migraine therapy. Chiropractic care for migraines can help you get back to enjoying your regular activities with less pain and discomfort.
